 Halloween Fund Raising...

We raised €487 on the dressing up day.  There was a tremendous response to the Cake sale organised by Ms Shiels, Ms Delaney and Ms Reilly’s classes who raised €1,200 between them.
Well done to the teachers and Noel especially who entered into the ‘spirit’ of the day by dressing up too!

Dublin City Marathon - Sponsorship

A huge THANK YOU to one of our parents, Tony Lawless who ran the Dublin City Marathon over the bank-holiday weekend and raised €850 for the school, for which we are very grateful.  Tony has a local business, Natural Healing at 87 Rosemount Ave.  http://www.health-plex.com/

Christmas Fundraising - Raffle & Coffee Morning

We plan on holding a Monster Raffle on Friday 17th December.  Books of tickets will be issued in the first week of December.  The prices are the same as they have been for the past few years with a ‘free’ ticket for every 5 sold.  We would encourage the girls to sell to relatives and neighbours to spread the cost.
On this morning we also plan on holding a Mega Cake Sale and Coffee morning from 8.30am onwards.  Donations of cakes, home-made and bought would be very welcome.  Invite friends, grand-parents and neighbours to join us for a cuppa.  Entertainment will be provided by the school choir throughout the morning.

Donations for raffle prizes will be gratefully received!!

School Choir
The school choir will be singing at a Christmas concert in the Church, St   Patrick’s Teacher Training College in aid of St. Joseph’s Centre for the Visually Impaired, Drumcondra on Wednesday 24th November at 7.00pm. Admission is €10 for adults and free for children.  Other special guests are Liam Lawton and Emma O’Driscoll will be the MC.
Know a local Printer?

We have 2 printing jobs that need to be done before Christmas and are keen to source locally.  If you are a printer or know of one, please contact us and we’ll issue the tender details.

 Green Schools

Earlier this year the school received its First Green Flag following a concerted effort by Miriam McGuirk and Ms Mary Devilly and the girls of the green committees.  The Lord Mayor, Mr Gerry Breen will attend the school on Friday 26th November to raise the flag formally.  Work is under way to achieve our Second Green Flag so we would ask you to encourage the girls in their green endeavours especially on recycling.  Congratulations!

New Teachers

A big welcome back to Ms Reilly who has 6th class.  Ms Farrell has 3rd class covering Ms McKenna’s parental leave while Mrs Farrell formerly of Learning Support has now taken 4th class.  Ms McMullen has moved to Learning Support alongside Ms Higgins.  Ms Ursula Woods has also joined this team.  Other new teachers are Ms Hayes who has Junior Infants and Ms Shiels, 5th class.  A new French teacher, Sally has also been appointed.

New School Doors...

The school got new doors at the entrances.  Some of the doors have a lovely frosted logo in the glass.  These doors will help to keep the school warmer and hopefully provide more security.
